A domestic interior built up through full location dressing, transforming a bare room into a space shaped by a child’s inner world. The environment remains recognisable, but is guided by the logic of imagination rather than strict realism.

Toys, books and objects are selected to reflect the density and specificity of a child’s interior life, where different worlds coexist. Elements of space, animals and narrative sit alongside one another, creating a layered sense of personal mythology.

References to Trafford’s Christmas environment are absorbed into this world rather than imposed onto it, appearing as part of the child’s mental landscape. It becomes one of several imagined spaces, held within the same field as play and narrative.

The palette and dressing draw subtly on both contemporary detail and older, Dickensian notes of Christmas, allowing the space to feel both current and faintly remembered.
